Ownership and Independence
Rystad Energy is a fully independent company owned by the management. It is vital to Rystad Energy to maintain its independence in operations. The views and opinions we promote are exclusively based on our own analysis and judgments.
History
Having worked with business development and portfolio strategy for major petroleum companies over many years, Jarand Rystad developed the vision that such consulting could be even more efficient if a comprehensive information infrastructure was available. In 2004 he decided to start a venture to realize this idea. Fellow partners soon shared his vision, and the team has since then developed a unique infrastructure and delivered more than 350 projects for E&P and supplier companies, investors, and governments. Rystad Energy has obtained a position as the leading oil and gas business experts in Northern Europe.
Funded by consulting services, Rystad Energy has put large efforts into developing databases into products that can be commercialized. After five years of internal use, improvement, development, and feedback from external test users, UCube - the Upstream cube, was launched as a commercial product in 2010. It was well received for its ease of use and completeness. In 2011 DCube (the oilfield service Demand cube) was announced and then introduced to the market.
Location
Rystad Energy is located at Aker Brygge in Oslo, in the heart of the city. A permanent research team is located in Asia whilst additional independent scouts have been engaged globally to increase Rystad Energy's capacity on information scouting.
Rystad Energy welcomes summer interns and trainees for a variety of work experience options every year.
