Rystad Energy is seeking an ambitious and motivated candidate with a strong academic record of accomplishment, an analytical mindset, good communication skills and interest for the oil and gas market. The right candidate will be a part of the Australasian Exploration and Production (E&P) analyst team.


The Australasian E&P team is part of the analyst department in Rystad Energy and is responsible for maintaining and developing our database and products within the E&P space. The work consists of collecting and analysing data and presenting this to clients. This will give you a deep understanding of the regional and global Upstream industry, and you will work in close collaboration with our consultants and business developers.


The Role

  • Analyse E&P and OFS companies in Australasia and ensure they are accurately reflected in our products
  • Take ownership of delivering asset reports, commentaries on topical events and to present at key conferences
  • Perform commercial evaluations of upstream assets  
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts
  • Become an expert on the Australasian upstream sector
  • Work as part of the global E&P product team
  • Support our clients and our business development team


Requirements, Experience & Skills

  • A good working knowledge of the Australasian upstream sector, through direct experience in either an upstream research, E&P or service company role is preferable but not essential
  • University degree in a data driven or energy related field such as mathematics, engineering or economics (Distinction or above preferable)
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
  • Self-motivated as well as a strong team player
  • Only candidates with Australian working rights will be considered


  • Both Sydney and Perth will be considered
