NCS 2013 Discovered volumes- Barents Sea taking first place

The graph shows the total discovered resources on the NCS for 2013 split by province. In total, just below 800 Mmboe of new hydrocarbons was discovered in 2013, where about 80% was liquids.

For the first time in history, the Barents Sea was the province with the highest discoveries, with about 300 Mmboe. The largest discoveries in this region were Gohta and Wisting. The North Sea followed just behind with the Gullfaks Lista and Luno II as the key discovery.

As a comparison, the total production volumes for the NCS in 2013 was 1.350 Million boe, implying that about 60% of the production was replaced by new volumes.
