Matthew Fitzsimmons
Senior Vice President & Head of Cost & Prices Research
Matthew Fitzsimmons is a Senior Vice President at Rystad Energy and is heading up the company’s cost and prices research. As a market voice, he has provided insights through the media, published papers and conference speaking engagements. Most recently, Matthew was the keynote speaker at Performance Forum’s Annual Summit in 2022 (USA), a Panelist at the 2020 Argus Media Crude Summit (USA), the Industry Keynote Speaker at MEOS 2019 (Bahrain), was published at the 2020 Offshore Technology Conference (USA), and has been either published or sited through CNBC, Forbes, Fortune Magazine, The New York Times, Offshore Magazine, Reuters, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and many others.
Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Matthew worked on Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) projects for Golar LNG based out of Oslo, Norway. In addition, he spent nearly eight years at ExxonMobil evaluating and managing projects around the world. He performed cost analysis on mega projects from Houston, Texas, helped to successfully deliver mega projects in Western Canada, and managed a portfolio of large projects in Eastern Russia.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Global Markets from BI Norwegian Business School and a Bachelor’s of Engineering (BE) degree from Stevens Institute of Technology (USA). He has also completed relevant industry courses from UC Berkeley (USA), IE Business School (Spain), Nanyang Technical University (Singapore), and University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (USA) and over 800 hours of post-graduate industry training.
