On April 17, the "2026 Natural Gas Industry Development Conference (Spring)," hosted by the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange, was held in Beijing.

At the meeting, Xiong Wei, Vice President, Rystad Energy, delivered a keynote speech titled "Signals in Turmoil: Short-term Changes in the Global Gas Market, Geopolitical Premiums, and the Irreversible Logic of U.S. Exports." Xiong Wei stated that geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East have significantly impacted the global LNG supply system, with the Asian market being more affected. Regional premiums and high gas prices are likely to continue, driving the market to achieve rebalancing through demand contraction.
